We do our best to notify all users in advance of planned system downtimes. The mechanisms used are as follows:
- All faculty and staff are e-mailed notification of major systems downtimes. For really large downtimes we also directly notify all users of the systems, but for most situations grad students are not directly notified of system downtimes. This policy came about from a request by grad students to reduce e-mail to them.
- We send notifications to the UCSC ITS Maintenance Calendar.
