When creating an ordered (numbered) or unordered (bulleted) list in Drupal, you may want to create multiple levels of indentation, such as in the following example:
- Apple
- Red Delicious
- Braeburn
- Fuji
- Banana
- Orange
The WYSIWYG editor in Drupal is able to do this, but the procedure to do so is not intuitive. To indent sub-items in a list, first type the new item at the same level as the parent item, like this:
- California
- Sacramento
- New York
- Manhattan
- Texas
- Austin
Then, put your mouse cursor immediately before the "S" in "Sacramento", and click the "Indent" button in the toolbar (whose icon is a blue arrow pointing to two horizontal black bars the right). Repeat that for each item you want to intent until the list is correct:
- California
- Sacramento
- New York
- Manhattan
- Texas
- Austin
You can do three or more levels of indentation using the same technique:
- California
- Sacramento
- Sacramento River
- New York
- Manhattan
- Hudson River
- East River
- Texas
- Austin
- Colorado River
