How To Locate Your Laptop Wireless MAC Address
In order for you to register your wireless laptop for use on the BSOE wireless network, you will need to obtain your laptop's MAC address. The procedure for doing so is included below.
Windows
Click "Start", "Run". In the box provided, type "cmd" and click "OK". Type "ipconfig /all". Look for your wireless device in the list of information provided. The MAC address will be listed as "Physical Address", and will look something like "00-11-22-33-44-55".
Macintosh
Open a new Finder window, and click "Applications", "Utilities" and then double-click "Network Utility". Select your wireless adapter in the drop-down at the top. The MAC address will be listed as "Hardware Address" and will look something like "00:11:22:33:44:55".
Linux
Open a shell window and type "ifconfig -a". Look for your wireless device in the list of information provided. The MAC address will be listed as "HWaddr" and will look something like "00:11:22:33:44:55".
